Bohm had always been willing to seek additional dimensions; in his search for scientific truth, he was led to conduct an extended dialogue with the Indian sage and mystic J. Krishnamurti. As a result of this relationship, Bohm decided that it was vital to go beyond thought and considered meditation as a path of further inquiry. Bohm commented in 1985, âMeditation could even bring us out of all (the difficulties) weâve been talking aboutâ¦Somewhere weâve got to leave thought behind and come to this emptiness of manifest thought altogetherâ¦In other words, meditation actually transforms the mindâ¦it transforms consciousness.â Bohm believed that meditation could put one in contact with that which is beyond thought, which is âenfolded truth.â
He came to regard matter, energy, and meaning as the three major constituents of our existence. As Bohmâs work matured, he placed increasing emphasis on truth as the essence of meaning!
